Words

Scenario #1:
While waiting in the check-out line at Wal-Mart, Caleb (3 1/2, whose speech is just barely catching up to his age), decided to voice his displeasure at the long wait by making some interesting noises - I guess you could call them screams. I looked him in the eyes and said, "Caleb, you have to use your words. If you want something and you use your words, then I'll listen. If you don't use your words, you won't get it."

Emma, (6 1/2), looked at me and said, "Mom, I'm using my words. Will you buy me this candy bar?"

Scenario # 2:
While driving in the car, Rob (12 in 2 weeks), said, "Mom, Dad needs to buy that new Cadillac."

"NEEDS to? When you say "need" you're saying he'll die without it."

Without skipping a beat, Rob replied,"That's right. If he doesn't get one, he WILL die without it."

Conclusion:
I believe I need to choose my words more carefully!
