From Drab to Fab in Four Days Flat

PROBLEM:  We needed to get our house on the market, and despite Jeff's best efforts, he was unable to complete the giagantic honey-do list Susie made for him before he took off to Texas to begin his new job.
SOLUTION:  Susie sent out the following email to a handful of friends entitled "It's a Party! (sort of)":
  • Need to clean & declutter your houses after the holiday craziness? Looking for an excuse to put it off for just a day or two longer?
  • LOOK NO FURTHER! I have the PERFECT SOLUTION!
  • You can come and help me clean and declutter MY house (isn't it always funner when it isn't your own grime?)!!
  • We are putting our home on the market - ASAP - and I'm throwing pride to the wind and admitting that if I don't get some help (my children have worked hard, but you know how it is...), I'll need to be medicated.
RESULTS:  Amazing friends who literally spent hours organizing my pantry, scrubbing my toilets, dusting my furniture, watching my kids, fixing various things around the house (both large and small), cleaning my carpet, and even bringing in two vanloads chock full of decorating accessories - and the magic touch to know exactly where to place everything.  The transformation of my house is now complete.  It looks better than it's ever looked, although keeping it this way will take a miracle - and not a small one.

From this front porch, we pictured sending our kids off to college, missions, honeymoons, dates without their kids. But we can do that from any porch.  What we didn't picture were all of the wonderful friends we would greet from this same front porch.  We can't do that from any porch.   Leaving the people we've grown to love is what will make this move so difficult.

Here are a couple inside pics.  There are TONS more.  To take a look, click here.  Oh, and by the way, pass the word around to anyone you know who may be relocating to Utah.  This is a great house in a great neighborhood and I promise the new owners will make lots of great friends who already know how to keep the toilets spotlessly clean!

I'm so glad you've been blessed with such good friends during the two years you've been in Utah. We'll pray for a buyer to come your way soon.

Can I just ditto what Julie said. Your house is beautiful. I hope that you will have a quick sale and then be able to have a successful transition back to Texas. What a blessing great friends are.
