Breaking Nutrition News

Caleb learns new and sometimes downright astonishing things at preschool every day.  I especially appreciated the nutrition lesson he gave us tonight during dinner.  The menu was spaghetti, carrot sticks, cucumber slices, & garlic bread.

Nutrition 101, by Caleb Angerbauer

(eating a carrot stick):  This doesn't have seeds.  It's a vegetable.
(eating a cucumber):  This has seeds.  It's not a vegetable.
(eating garlic bread):  This doesn't have seeds.  It's a vegetable.

The Obvious Conclusion:

Anything without seeds is a vegetable.  Any diet worth its salt basically gives Cart Blanche when it comes to eating vegetables - eat as many as you want, most of them say.

My list of Carte Blanche Vegetables just grew exponentially.

Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake, Carino's Italian Nachos, Ghiradelli Brownies.  You get the idea.

My sincere thanks to Caleb's preschool.  I graciously admit that I've been wrong and am happy to embrace this newest diet trend.
