14, 4, 31, 40, 7

The busiest month of my entire year began on October 19th and just barely ended on November 12th.  Here's a recap.

October19th - Kirsten's 14th Birthday, celebrated with family and then with 40+ friends - all in our basement.  Hanging out, eating chips, and - I was to find out when helping Kirsten clean up - throwing Skittles at each other. The night after her party was her first stake dance. I clearly remember my 14th birthday and my first stake dance.  Where did the time go?

October 28th - Caleb's 4th birthday, celebrated with family and with his friends from Joy School whom he adores.  It's a fantastically fabulous age. Have four years really passed since my baby was born?  It seems like it happened yesterday.

October 31st - Halloween, celebrated with the requisite overload of candy and tons and tons of fun.

November 7th - Jeff's 40th birthday, celebrated at Huntington (a surprise), with family, and then at Tucanos, a delectable Brazilian BBQ.  My amazing husband (who honestly doesn't look a day over 30) can now join me in being evasive when asked about our age.  Does answering "39 and holding" constitute bearing false witness?

November 12th - Emma's 7th birthday, celebrated with family and then 10 friends at a very PINK birthday party where they strung beads, decorated cupcakes, and all got (at least) one balloon animal compliments of Emma's multi-talented daddy.  Emma used to snuggle on my lap as I read her books - now she snuggles under her covers to read her own.  Sigh.  My baby girl is growing up.

I am officially allowing myself to breathe for approximately one week, and then it's time to prepare for a Thanksgiving Trip to San Diego to visit my grandparents.

I'm just glad that Christmas is so far off on the horizon . . . . .

What a busy month. I know how you feel. This is my down week, too. Ahh, to get to breath! Enjoy it. I might go to a friends and watch "By the Light of the Silvery Moon." So nice to have a day off and to watch an oldie. Wish you were here and could join us!
