Fossils and Crazy Water

The kids had Monday off, so Jeff took the day off & we decided we needed to go somewhere a minimum of an hour away with minimum expense. We gambled on fossil hunting in Mineral Wells, having never talked to anyone who had been, just reading reviews online.

It was a great call.  Everyone enjoyed it (truly miraculous), & the only expense was gas money plus a few bottles of Crazy Water from the local well that is said to take away your "crazies" if you drink enough of it.

These fossils are 300 million years old, and there were tons of them.  It was addicting, seeing how many you could find.  The kids used the fossils with holes to make necklaces and bracelets.  Kirsten's comment, "This is the type of jewelry you get at Abercrombie!"
