- Camping Chairs to replace the ones that have gotten busted over the years: $40

- Food & Misc Camping Supplies & Necessities: $100
- Fees for 3 nights of camping at the mouth of Bryce Canyon: $105
- Driving 4.5 hours in anticipation of a fun-filled hiking, swimming, & camping weekend: Exhilarating
- Setting up camp & roasting hotdogs & marshmallows in on-again off-agin rain: Annoying
- Sleeping in a "rain-proof" tent & realizing that "rain-proof" means "it'll stay dry only if it doesn't rain all night": Damp & NOT Restful
- Eating cereal for breakfast (instead of your planned eggs & bacon) in the car to stay warm & dry: Disappointing
- Realizing that weather forecasts are not entirely reliable: Maddening
- Packing up all of your camping gear in the pouring rain & making a futile attempt to lift spirits by singing "Singin in the Rain:" Muddy & Pretty Miserable
- Winning the argument with campground management that two nights' worth of fees should be refunded: Triumphant in an Empty Sort of Way
- Driving 4.5 hours back home, cold, wet & muddy: Strangely Silent
- Doing the math & knowing we may as well have stayed a night or two in a luxury resort: Painful
- Having the kids & Jeff around to help with the post-trip clean-up: Trying to find a silver lining in the cloud
- Memories Made: Potentially Priceless (after time passes & eases the pain)

Just think of the laughs you will have in the future. It makes me think of Elder Wirthlin's talk about his daughter thinking the babysitee was her blind date. Ok, hers wasn't as expensive. At least you have the stuff for the future, right? I love reading your posts and staying in touch with you! You are a talented writer.

I know you had camping tragedy. But, to read your blog, I see a rather hilarious picture. I'm sorry really but you are such a great writer that I am laughing and laughing! LOL Maybe next time it will be better...Oh you should share this with Whitney Reich...tire popped, tent flooded, car window busted, wind tipped everything over and they left. Ugh!!!
