Jeff was asked to sing in a men's quartet for church, and on this past Tuesaday night they held a practice at a home about 1/2 mile from ours. The accompanist was John Rona, age 55. He is an exceptional pianist. Our ward choir was able to sing many songs that would not be possible in other wards because of his talent. When he sat down at the piano and started playing, people were often moved to tears. That night, John was on a motorcycle and didn't wear his helmet. He was the first one to leave the practice, followed by a man named Wayne and then Jeff. They were driving down a winding lane in the dark; when Jeff turned the last corner before the lane meets up with a main road, he noticed Wayne's car pulled over the the side, and then saw John in a ditch, his motorcycle on top of him. Eventually, John was transported via life flight to the hospital. He was operated on immediately, but the prognosis is grim. He is currently on life support and his family will soon have to make the heart-wrenching decision of whether or not to contine life support.
In honor of John, the quartet, all of whom were the first ones on the scene of the accident, decided to sing their song today. John's six children were in attendance. The song was "I Need Thee Every Hour" - Jeff began the song with a solo. Everyone in the chapel was moved to tears. I know that all of us recognized how much we do indeed Need Him Every Hour.

Great... you've officially freaked me out. Mark rode his motorcycle to work for the first time this year this morning! Luckily I've "let" him buy ALL the safety gear... protective coat, gloves, helmet. Just as long as he wears them every time! How did your friend fall in the ditch anyways?
